The sign read:

"The area ahead was the worst weather in America. Many have died there from exposure, even in the summer. Turn back now if the weather is bad."

Oh, BTW I forgot to bring my windbreaker today. I remembered everything but the most important one. Well, at least I have an extra mid weight fleece, a down jacket, balaclava and neck gaiter.
