It is October 10, 2010 today. I brought 10 finger puppets and distributed them around, at the summit of Horn, we put up the puppets and posed for the summit picture. The trip over to Bulge was almost un-noticeable, next thing we knew, we're at the summit of Cabot. The wind was still fierce by the time we got to Cabot. We hunkered down inside the cabin south of the summit, took out our stove and made ourselves some hot soup for lunch. It was so windy at the cabin that my backpack which I left on the porch was blown blown off the porch. But the descent from the cabin was fast and steep, it got us out of the wind quickly.
There was a rough but short section before the junction of Bunnell Ntch trail, other than that, the hike up the Terraces were nice. Especially the views from Terrace Mountain was unexpectedly beautiful. After Terrace Moutain we hurried down to the Willard Notch, found the unofficial tentsite and from there, Darlene took the York Pond trail to head out to her car.
