Jen, Kim and I backpacking to Garfield Ridge campsite. According to the weatherman, the rain was supposed to stop around 3-4PM. SO we decided to start the hike in around 1, which should put us in the campsite around 4PM, set up tent and hike up to the summit of Garfield for a beautiful Pemi Sunset. But...

We should have known better by now not to believe the weather forecast. It was dry when we arrived at the trailhead parking lot, at the time, the forecast looked promising. But as soon as we reached around 3000' elevation, we began to hike into the cloud, and the mist and drizzle would continue throughout the night until the next morning. About 9 AM, the clouds suddenly gave way to the clear blue skies.

The hike out was beautiful, we're rewarded by warm sun nice breeze and clear blue skies. We traversed Garfield Ridge to Galehead hut, and headed down via Gale River Trail where we spotted Jen's car there.

It was dry and warm at the parking lot, but once we reached about 3000', we began to hike into the mist and noticed larger snow patches on the ground.

Kim crossing the river by balancing on the trees that were placed there. By the time we reached the last big crossing, we weren't concern about getting our feet wet anymore, and walked right into the cool water. Nice end of the hike out.
