On February 21, 1959. A Piper Comanche piloted by Dr. Ralph Miller crash landed in the heart of Pemigewasetts Wilderness. Together with his passenger Dr. Robert Quinn, the 2 doctors from Dartmouth Medical College survived at least 4 days after the crash before succumbed to the cruel New England winter. What's left today was a memorial plaque set up at the crash site.

Damian and I have been wanting to locate the plaque since Damian read about it from Shrouded Memories, by Floyd W. Ramsey. We made our first attempt 2 years ago the day before Thanks Giving, but was turned back due to high water level making the river crossing unsafe. This time around, we came prepared with water shoes and picked a warmer time of the year.
