Jay noticed that next to the bottom of the ladder was some thick snow, made a nice cushion for butt sliding down the slope instead of risking the icy ladder.
After his successful landing onto the snow, I decided to follow. With the help of a rope that Al brough along, I managed to safely lower myself to the top of the slope next to the ladder before I let go and slid my way down the steep slope.
