The very begining of the Brutus bushwhack. Pretty thick and soon became very steep too. Jen was leading and thought that the steepness of the slope and the amount of snow on it was way too strenous to hike. We agreed with her assessment and backed out of the bushwhack and went with plan B, the slide.

But at this point we're all pretty wiped out from breaking trails and thought we might not have enough time to climb the slide safely and return. So we decided to at least continue breaking the trail to the entrance of the slide.
